EMURGO x ADAVERSE Blockchain Founders Hangout in Lagos was a Blast
Over 60 startups converged to join the Cardano community.
Adaverse launched the Blockchain Founders Hangout in Lagos to promote the Cardano ecosystem in Nigeria and provide networking and investment possibilities to young technopreneurs. The maiden edition was a smashing success!
The Event
On the 5th of May 2022, Adaverse in collaboration with EMURGO Africa held the much-anticipated Blockchain Founders Hangout in the bustling city of Lagos, Nigeria. Over 100 attendees were present at the privately-held event specially designed for startup founders to assimilate into the Cardano dynamic ecosystem.
With the early arrival of Shogo Ishida and Yosuke Yoshida, the co-CEOs of EMURGO Africa and Middle East, the hangout attracted a huge crowd of young, ambitious visionaries and blockchain enthusiasts building the future of the African economy on emerging Web 3 technologies.
The incredibly informative and fun event was separated into two segments: an interactive session with presentations from Adaverse as well as EMURGO, and an after-party for networking among the myriads of tech pioneers.
The Presentations
Chuta Chimezie — partner at Adaverse in Nigeria, kicked off the event with a remarkable presentation on a Playbook for Building A Strong Brand Strategy Bridge for Your Blockchain Startup Business. Over fifty attendees, including startup CEOs and aspiring founders, were present in the conference room to gain in-depth knowledge on how to establish, scale, and receive funding support from Cardano through Adaverse. Chuta emphasised that Adaverse is the ideal accelerator for Cardano-powered blockchain solutions in Africa and provided information on how to get onboard the accelerator program.

Highlighting the strong use case for building Web3 technology on the Cardano third-generation blockchain with various available tools such as Yoroi digital wallet and Fibo NFT marketplace among others.
Shogo Ishida — Executive Director for Emurgo Africa shared insights on what Cardano offers African tech startups through the Emurgo vision that was kickstarted in 2021 with the $100 million Cardano ecosystem investment capital which is set to invest and support 100 African startups within 3 years.
